A beautiful cycling route that crosses the Weinviertel from north to south.
Opis
Cycling route 5 starts at the Czech border in the spa town Laa an der Thaya heading south. Past Loosdorf Castle the route continues to Asparn an der Zaya past the MAMUZ castle towards Mistelbach. Via Gaweinstal the route continues to Bad Pirawarth and Großschweinbarth. Landscapewise, the route now leaves the typical vineyard topography and reaches the oil and gas production area around Schönkirchen and Gänserndorf in the southern Weinviertel. Passing the Gänserndorf adventure park, the route enters the Marchfeld towards Leopoldsdorf. From there the route follows the steam wheel path through Breitstetten and connects to the Danube cycle path EV6 in Orth an der Donau.

Cycling route 5 runs along typical little-trafficked Weinviertel agricultural paths. It is mostly asphalted and passes the train stations Laa, Mistelbach, and Gänserndorf.

From Vienna by car take federal road B6 via Ernstbrunn to Laa an der Thaya.
