Schwarzau am Steinfeld

Dreamy postcard idyll in the district of Neunkirchen: Schwarzau am Steinfeld is a particularly relaxing place to spend your vacation. Here, the mountains of the Bucklige Welt set their foot on the edge of the flat Steinfeld in the southern Vienna Basin. On the banks of the Schwarza, the two towers of the parish church of St. John greet travelers passing by on the freeway. Family-run catering establishments cater for excursion guests of all ages.

Good to know: The last Austrian imperial couple got married in the baroque castle of Schwarzau am Steinfeld. Today, the historic building serves as a women's prison.

Guntrams estate: look, marvel, taste

Gut Guntrams is a small natural paradise in the Steinfeld between Seebenstein and Schwarzau: Orchards, ancient oaks and wild plants thrive here on an area of 3.6 hectares. Visitors can look forward to a varied program with a fine wine-making workshop and farm store as well as a cosy restaurant and interesting guided tours.
