Opis
The starting point is the imposing Benedictine Abbey Seitenstetten, which has formed the cultural heart of the region since the 12th century. The path leads eastwards, past the miniature golf course – a welcome opportunity for a playful break. Soon you reach the cemetery church St. Veit, where with its foundation also the first documentary mention of Seitenstetten took place. A historic place inviting to pause. From the club center the path leads over a small bridge that spans the Trefflingbach – an idyllic section that delights nature lovers. The monument of the millennium oak, which recalls the legendary thousand-year-old oak, is a symbol of permanence and natural power that invites to pause and marvel.
Past the sawmill Schippamühle and typical Mostviertel farmsteads you can feel the rural flair. After a short section through a quiet forest area you reach the picturesque Schintinger Chapel – a place of silence and contemplation. The path leads over the farm road to the scattered settlement Hofing and on a gravel road to the Franzosenwald, where a forged cross commemorates the fallen soldiers in the Napoleonic wars. At the end the path leads back to the Benedictine Abbey Seitenstetten.
