Krátky opis
Jauerling: A road bike route through the world-famous Wachau
Opis
This 118-kilometer long route with 1,710 meters of elevation leads through the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau, one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Europe. Along the Danube, you will find picturesque wine villages such as Weißenkirchen and Spitz. From Mautern to Spitz, driving is prohibited on the main road, so the route follows the official bike path here. Shortly after Spitz, the challenging climb begins with hairpin bends up to Jauerling (960m), the highest peak of the Wachau, rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. Highlights like Jauerling, Maria Langegg, and the Dunkelsteinerwald make this route a unique mix of athletic challenge and scenic beauty.
