Kino v Kesselhause

As the only arthouse cinema in Krems and the surrounding area, the Kino im Kesselhaus has been an important cultural venue for encounters and lively discussions about film culture since it was founded in 2005. The high chimney of the boiler house of the former Austria Tabakwerke from the 1920s (now Campus Krems) is the architectural and eponymous feature of the cinema, which is equipped with state-of-the-art cinema technology. From Wednesday to Sunday, the program includes selected works of current international and domestic feature and documentary films (in German, but also in the original version with subtitles), film classics, children's films, short films, animation and experimental film programs.

And in the hot summer weeks, the cinema moves outside: In a unique setting amidst vineyards and modern campus architecture, the Sommer.Kino at the Kesselhaus shows a fine selection of film highlights from the cinema year and previews of the upcoming season on the big screen in the open air.
