The Christian Pleil winery is a family business that has been growing wine for generations. Christian Pleil, a graduate of the viticulture school in Klosterneuburg, expanded his experience and knowledge through internships in Germany, California, South Africa and Australia before taking over his parents' winery in Wolkersdorf. These diverse experiences allow him to take a reflective look at the treasures of his own environment. Grüne Veltliner enjoys the status of favorite variety and accounts for around 40 percent of the vineyard area. Other important white wine varieties are Chardonnay and Riesling, while Zweigelt dominates among the red wines. The winery strives for a clear and refreshing wine style, from light entry-level wines to complex reserves. The aim is to bring a maximum of authentic varietal and origin characteristics into the bottle. According to the winemaker, the key to success lies in doing everything at the right time.
