Mönichkirchen am Wechsel, a traditional vacation and excursion destination for families and a certified hiking village, is located on the south-eastern slope of the Wechsel at an altitude of around 1000 meters. The scenic journey via the Wechselbundesstraße is exceptional. The drive along the former four-lane road winds up to Mönichkirchen and the pass crossing on the border with Styria.

Over the Niederwechsel you reach an impressive rock formation, the "Steinerne Stiege".   • Certified hiking village with extensive hiking infrastructure and a well-organized network of hiking trails
  • Children look forward to the scooter and mountain cart track. At the end of the route, the 4-seater chairlift takes you back up to the Mönichkirchner Schwaig and onto a new round.
  • Hiking on the Schwaigen am Wechsel is particularly beautiful. The mountain huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat.
  • Swinging, seesawing, climbing and relaxing on the unique swing path on the Mönichkirchner Schwaig.
  • A visit to the Hamari climbing park, the largest adventure climbing park in the Vienna Alps, is also exciting.
  • The Mönichkirchen water park is quieter. Here you can stroll along the evaporation pond, pass a biotope and a swamp landscape and reach a waterfall.
