Milleniumssäule

Popis

The time stele was presented in a ceremony on November 12, 2000 in the year of salvation 2000 as a donation by Father Hartmann and Father Gabriel to former mayor Walter Waldbauer on behalf of all citizens.
Description:
The stele does not subjectively emphasize only the Christian calendar, but also allows the viewer to perceive the time calculations valid elsewhere. The foundation of the stele is a granite boulder from Wallsee on the Danube weighing approx. 8 tons and measuring 2.5 m in diameter. The Bible verse "PEACE IS A FRUIT OF JUSTICE" is inscribed in bronze letters all around the boulder. From this natural form, eternity, time grows precisely and smoothly, a five-sided stele made of "Wachau marble" 2.5 m high and weighing approx. 1.5 tons. The upper end with the message "LISTEN" was cut at an angle, symbolizing infinity. The bronze symbols of the 5 world religions were mounted at different heights on the five sides in proportion to their age. The distance between the time lines is 0.24 mm per year. Differences to other time indications may be due to the different currents and branches as well as time calculation methods of the religions.

Come to the pillar of time -
If you remain silent, it will begin to speak,
If you speak, it will answer you
