Semmering

On the southern border between Lower Austria and Styria lies the municipality of Semmering and the Alpine crossing of the same name. The Semmering Railway (now a UNESCO World Hertige site) has been running through the village since 1854. Initially, it mainly brought the sophisticated public from Vienna to the Semmering for their summer retreat. Today, the healing climate of the high-altitude climatic health resort attracts visitors, partly due to the many opportunities for sporting activities in Semmering.

You have to experience it at Semmering:

• Skiing & tobogganing by day and nightIn the Hirschenkogel ski area, you can ski, snowboard and toboggan on 14 km of pistes including the World Cup course and the 3 km long toboggan run during the day, but also in the evening, as there is a large night skiing area. Young skiers can make their first turns at the Happylift.
• Bikepark Semmering: Bikepark Semmering includes various routes of all levels of difficulty, with a total length of 18 km. Whether on the family route for beginners and families or on the freeride and downhill routes for advanced riders and pros - fun is guaranteed in the bike park.
• Family routes Mountain cart route: A 3 km long gravel road from the summit station of the cable car takes you back down to the valley, whether you're already a bit faster with a mountain cart or want to get to know the mountain bike... all riders are sure to get their money's worth.
• Hirschenkogel forest ropes course: The forest ropes course, which is the size of a soccer pitch, is located right next to the summit station at the top of the Hirschenkogel.
• Semmering golf course:Tee off at 1,000 meters above sea level: the Semmering Golf Club, is the oldest golf club in Austria with a unique agricultural location and 9 challenging fairways.
• Hike along the railroad hiking trail:Along the route of the UNESCO World Hertige site Semmering railway, a railway hiking trail leads past imposing viaducts and impressive buildings.
