Rossatz on the idyllic south bank of the Wachau. This is the home of the Josef Fischer winery. The winery was first mentioned in a document back in 1898. Wine is now grown on an area of around 11.5 hectares. Combining tradition with modern, well thought-out ideas. Preserving craftsmanship, but living innovation. Respecting nature and farming with a clear conscience. This is the Fischer family's way. For five generations.

A PASSION FOR WINE

When Josef Fischer took over responsibility for the family winery in Rossatz, he initially took his time. He wanted to change a lot of things - but in a calm and considered manner. So he only took small steps at first, but some of them were quite revolutionary: he converted the 11 hectares of vineyards to organic farming, he banned pure yeast from the cellar and only fermented spontaneously. And he crossed out the fixed dates in his calendar for the launch of his wines.
